Hi Car-Nut.

I've seen this car before; it's nice. To be pedantic it's got 420G hubcaps and unknown wheel trims and i can't see the header tank in the engine pictures that would indicate its a 4.2 along with the gold cylinder head. It's a very nice car though.

I think the nicest 420G that I have ever seen is finished in black and was in the showroom in Reading for some time circa 2001. I think it's reg was JAG 420G(F?)or something very close, I'll have to scurry in the loft methinks Smile. It was definitely concours and a beautiful car - the very last of the true coachbuilt jags.

If you google the Terry Cohen car you'll get plenty of info

Touching on the gold cylinder head - I thnk is goes down to engine no. what colour your head is scratch

The Below is an extract from - Click Arrow [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

CYLINDER HEAD COLOR
Pumpkin colored through at LEAST engine number R-2512 (see footnote C)
Note: This is the highest observed engine number at this time. Color then changed to gold through late 1967
and then changed to natural aluminum. The LOWEST confirmed aluminum head at this time is engine
7E11938-9 and the highest confirmed gold head is 7E10192-9 (H – Pg. 100 and personal survey)[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

That's very steep - On diplomatic Belgium plates but still very overpriced. Anyone know where JAG 420F (G) is these day's? IMHO the the best 420G anywhere - Mind you I do have rather a soft spot for Madabout jags' V12 Mk10 Smile
