| I sincerely hope so Clive. I have been working furiously to get Sir William ready for the big day. he has just come out of the panel shop after a long needed freshen up. I am just waiting to pick up a set of wheels that I have had sand blasted and powder coated with a matching body colour. These will sport new rimbellishers and new hub caps. There is also alot of meticulous cleaning and detailing to do, notwithstanding installation of the original radio and associated wood surround. The radio has been reconditioned and the wood should be with me next week. Furthermore you may be interested in an FM converter I sourced that will play FM stations through the old AM radio, more on that later. All in all things are on track for an excellent debut. | |

| Clive, I was lucky enough to find a NOS set of the original stamped HORVELL 14" rimbellishers from fleebay U.S. No such luck with the outer window wipe seals, there aint no such animal out there for some reason, either that or I'm just not looking hard enough Here is a link for the FM converter----tell me what you think, the output is through the 1400 range, so may not suit UK radios, but the output frequency on the unit looks adjustable so you never know. | Clive, There were certain pieces of wood that I was not happy with. Firstly the radio panel timber was cut out square to accommodate a modern CD player FM radio, and since I had the original chrome radio repaired, I sourced another radio panel timber and have just had it refurbished along with a seat belt pillar wood which had nicks in it from the drivers belt tongue retracting, a glove box lid which was ill fitting and the two long woods above the windscreen (one had the pointy end snapped off). My wood man called me not 10 mins ago and told me they were ready for the princely sum of $540 .00, so I'm off tomorrow across town in 35 degree celsius heat to pick them up. So really all that is left to do is fit the timber, fit the original AM radio for which I have an FM converter, give it a good going over and maybe add a high lustre polish and we should be in business. Cheers Charles | |

| Charles, Sounds like its coming together nicely.... 35 degrees Its 4 degrees over here Its a bad day to talk to me about wood after wasting half my day yesterday on an unreliable Frenchpolishers in the Pennines. Looks like my wood will be travelling to Lincolnshire. Keep us posted on the progress | |

| Thank you so much, He is finally ready and as the missus says "Use a cloth to open the doors and let us in tomorrow--no fingerprints on the chrome" Well at least she respects my passion, either that or she's taking the mickey. In any event I hope I can do us all proud and bring something home to show. Charles | |

| Hi All, This is the email I got this morning, it is self explanatory. So this is the state of affairs I'm afraid. Dear Member We regret to advise that due to the inclement weather and the conditions at the concours site it has been decided to cancel the 2010 Concours & Display Day. However, the judging of the Enthusiast Class will continue and now be done at the Club Rooms. Please contact me if you have any queries. Trevor Wilkinson Concours Director, JCCV Charles | |

| Hi all, As you may have read earlier the Jaguar club of Victoria Australia concours was cancelled due to unseasonal torrential rain which lasted several days and waterlogged the venue. it was decided that the judging for the event would continue back at the clubrooms car park. I drove through inclement weather to get to the clubrooms on the other side of town, by the time I arrived, a beautifully pristine and garaged "Sir William" was ruined. I quickly ran him through the nearest car wash and then on to the venue where I chamoised and wiped furiously before the scrutinizing judges arrived to tear him apart. You will all be pleased to know the he has done our forum proud---He took out the GOLD!! and not satisfied with that , he went on to take out the best four door saloon!! Behold his awards: The following are some pics of him and one of yours truly. I took a few shots before my phones memory became full of the various array of vehicles present. Firstly an XJS Daimler 420 XJ6 XJC coupe XK8 S-TYPE MK8 MK2 E-TYPE MK2 Well that's about it till next year. Charles
