| Guys, after being involved with the organisation of a E50 meet at Silverstone next year I have been surprised how quickly hotels are getting booked up and the near ones are fully booked On that note I, no I correct that. My good lady wife, Karen has started looking into hotels for the MK10 /420G event August next year. If you are attending and are staying over the night before please show your interest and I'll update here with what good hotels we find. | |

| This may be of interest to you all , my spies in other places are informing me that a total of 15 MK10/420G cars from Germany are rumored to be attending the Leviathan .
I do hope this turns out to be true , a great gesture by them .

| I believe as with any of these great car shows its just great to get as many of these old Jaguars together. When I went to Prescott last year where I met you for the first time Al. Although there in my E it was amazing to see about 150 E-Types in the same place and a small gathering of Mk10 420G's. This year I look forward to the Silverstone event over the July 22nd-24th weekend where they are predicting 1000 - 1500 E-Types being there. I have a busy couple of week-ends with that and 2 weekends later the Levaithan. I wonder actually how many MK10 \ 420G will get there from all the different forums and around the world I think its going to be a day for the enthusiast of this model. | |

| You are so right Clive , the MK10/420G are in such small supply that where they come from doesn't matter , the aim is to promote and gather as many as possible . I was hoping to see a couple of hundred a Leviathan , but maybe a little over optimistic Looking forward to a great weekend Alan S.S.O.C |

| I have an from: Steve Fermor Jaguar Driver Magazine Editor and Club DirectorAs follows: "PRESS RELEASE Hello everyone, and thank you for registering your interest in our Leviathan celebrations. I said I’d update you when plans firm up, so I’ll outline briefly what we have planned so far. For everyone: Come along to Jaguar Drivers’ Club National Day at Rockingham Castle on 7 August and you can park your Mark 10/420G in a special anniversary display area. Our initial hope of displaying 50 cars seemed a bit fanciful at first, but this now seems far more likely with every passing week. The Leviathan trailer is doing a great job of promoting the event on YouTube, with well over 600 hits so far. So bring your car to Rockingham – it’s £15 for two people including admission to the castle – and there will be a special presentation certificate of attendance for the first 50 Mark 10s and 420Gs to arrive. On the day: Jaguar Drivers’ Club National Day always has plenty to offer, not least our E Type celebrations, but specifically for the Mark 10, there will be a display and commentary in the main arena. It’s a little early to allocate times, but I would envisage a 45-minute slot, and I’ll be pushing for more if additional presentation opportunities are available. The programme should look like this: Following a brief introduction from me, there will be a potted history of this great car from the Classic S Type Register, which caters for these cars and looks after and encourages ownership. This will be delivered by Register Chairman and Technical Advisor Len Hand and News Correspondent Gaynor Cauter. We are also hoping Norman Dewis will be there and, as always, be persuaded to talk about his involvement in the testing and development of the Mark 10 and 420G in the 1960s. There will hopefully be another celebrity from the world of Jaguar, whom I can’t name just yet, and who will be invited to talk about the car. There will be a nose-to-nose comparison with the Mark 10’s predecessor, the Mark IX. Hopefully, we will also have some special versions of the Mark 10 and 420G in the arena, including a V12-engined version and some magnificent two-toned 420Gs. The event will be photographed and the highlights filmed for a later web movie. For members only: We are planning to make the May issue of Jaguar Driver our special Leviathan edition. I’m hoping for a 12-page section – and more if I can get it! This will include: An introduction to the Mark 10 and where it sits in the Jaguar line-up. An archival history of the cars featuring many historic photographs. Dare to Buy – our version of a buyer’s guide. The driving experience – what are they like on the road? An interview with Norman Dewis. A special Automobilia feature looking at Mark 10 collectables. Later in the year: A follow-up report on the Leviathan event at National Day." | |

| Hello all,
The special Leviathan edition of Jaguar Driver is currently in production, and bigger than previously suggested. Although it is too early to be definite about this, the section is a hefty 17 pages long. There is a two-page intro from me, Roger Kemp will driving the Jaguar Heritage Mark 10 - and the on-line version of the mag will hopefully have a movie of this. Len Hand tells of his love affair with the cars, Ian Cooling gives us a look at some Mark 10/420G collectables, Gaynor and Len give us 'Dare to Buy' - a guide on buying a good car, and Francois Prins gives us the story of project Zenith, which features notes from Norman Dewis, and some very rare development photos. I've not seen these before, and it certainly was an odd looking car in its early stages.
Members will of course get this anyway, but those of you who are not yet members really shouldn't miss this. Membership for a whole year is just £30 (+ £5 one-off enrolment fee) if you opt for the on-line version of the magazine. You can join via the website, link below.
Attached is a low-res teaser.
There will be more Mark 10 copy in future issues this year, and every year.
Regards,
Steve Fermor | |

Just time for one more update! A week from now it will all be over, and I'll be driving home, looking forward to a nice cold pint of something or other, and hopefully having seen a record number of Jaguar's giants - basking in the sun of course.

I hope you all enjoy the day.
Regards,
Steve Fermor"Looking forward to good a turn out, lets hope the weather was like today Im sure this will great event I would like to thank Steve and his Team for all there efforts in organising this.... | |
