Hot off the press chaps goodjob

Pistonheads has commentary by Norman Dewis that whilst Jaguar was investigating the diesel market, they fitted one to the MK10 for evaluation.

"The engine was supplied by Italian marine specialist VM Motori, who was looking to get into cars. I don't think its unusual that a manufacturer will try different permutations of engines and transmissions, the XJ40 was tried with a Lexus V8 and apparently it fitted very well- but back to the MK10.

I must confess that this is the first time I have heard this news - it's an interesting story Smile

Final footnote and then I really must get back to work - Norman D say's "an old MK10" - pahh - old indeed lol!

Thinks.... Prototype/Mule MK10 wonder what happened to it?
