hi all, I have had a couple of 420G's in the past but that was a while ago now, bought my latest one late last year from Harlow.

Its a dark blue 420G Reg KRY 725E (any info on this car would be appreciated), It came with a boot full of spares, all handbooks etc, genuine Jaguar service and parts manuals and virtually a full service history. The mileage is currently 75,000.

It had been laid up for a year or two but i took the plunge and drove it all the way from Harlow to Portsmouth and it didnt miss a beat! It went in for MOT and only failed on brakes, Im currently rebuilding them at the moment so should be on the road shortly. I was very surprised when it went up up the MOT testers ramp and we couldnt find any welding at all on the car, and it didnt need any!

The body panels are not too bad, there is some rust but nothing terminal, the paint is a bit flat though.

The Interior is OK but not excellent,

Chrome is fairly good,

Over the next few years It will be restored inside and out.

I will be keeping it as original as possible apart from fitting a MK10 grille (I just like how they look)

I also own a few other classics, 1968 Cortina, 1968 Escort Van, 1982 Aston Martin Lagonda and Have a BMW M5 I use as a Daily driver. Once the 420G is MOT'd and the weather is a bit kinder then this will take over as my everyday car.

Allan welcome aboard, sounds to me you have gotten yourself a real find there! Interesting idea about changing the grille back to MK10. I must confess it does look nicer and the thought has crossed my mind, perhaps when a good one comes along one day. he he
In any event you are now part of a great forum dedicated to these fabulous cars, you are in good company. We look forward to being of mutual assistance to one another soon.

Cheers for now.
