| Clive, your banner has bought back a memory.
I believe I may have seen a 420G converted to a Ute.
It was quite a few years ago, and I only saw it once and am not even 100% sure it was a Zenith.
However, I have a feeling I may also have seen it in Australian Jaguar mgazine once
I will be able to find out, as the guy that owned and built it was the father of the local Jag mechanic

| A ute is a "utility" or pickup to our northern hemisphere friends. The ute was actually an Australian invention and the first one ever made was a Ford. | |

| I as going to put in a description of a ute.
am trying to recall how it was constructed..ie twin or single cab.
The traditional ute is a single cab vehicle with 6ft+ tray for tradesmen.
They have been largely displaced by SUV's now.
It was an odd looking beast, but well made.
the father himself was a Jaguar mechanic and his son who is now in his forties was his apprentice.
Should be able to find out within the next week or so.
ps..there is a picture on page 140 of Thorley MKVII-420G of a modified Mark X described as a "pickup"...this is how it looked

| Good finding,
The red one at the top is the one I am refering to.
Thomas Jag & Mechanical is the owner.
The current principals main car interest is Fords though.
If you look closely at the sign you will note the HP rating on his blown XY Falcon
1000 HP
edit for you to salivate over...He has very extensivly modified our Club presidents V12, now running well over 500HP, bored and stoked, Wolf engine management, individual coils, electric water pumps, non-jag cooling etc etc
