I think we've commented on the dragster 420G before and your GTI golf?

To me I'd much rather see something like this (dragster) on the road, being run, having fun than a concours model sat in the showroom and yet I find myself horrified at the thought of a demolition derby MK10 along with rotten sills. decaying floor plans and a BW8 gearbox that has black treacle for oil - am I hypocritical? - I think perhaps I am.

After my aborted attempt to buy one of the last XJ 4.0S (see XJ40 forum) I have seriously considered buying an Insignia XJ12 that was auctioned by Bonhams- much Googling later brought me to an American site offering 400BHP from a LS1 engine transplant and little to no major surgery and with improved mpg (much needed!)....somehow... I don't know... I couldn't do it to a Jag - stupid heh? Rolling Eyes

Yesterday I went for a meeting to see a Marketing Consultant. I dressed open neck shirt but by the time I got my hand on the car door I had to turn back to put a tie on!; I just didn't feel dressed.

Maybe Sir Williams would have approved of me, protecting his brand from some damn johhny foreigner! who knows?? I just know- that spat's on a Mk10 doesn't cut it, a big ass turbo is so outrageous in a 420G you can just about get away with it, an LS1 in an XJ12 just isn't cricket and if you're going to a meeting ...wear a tie! Laughing

There you go .... the world according to Carr! Instructions
